The first conclave of the 2nd Cohort of the North East Entrepreneurship Fellowship 2019 was held on the 13th & 14th of July, 2019 at YouthNet office, Dimapur. An annual fellowship program that brings together the brightest and high growth entrepreneurs from across the region. Each fellowship consists of entrepreneurs from all 8 states of the North East, India, to come together for a yearlong fellowship of knowledge and exposure, networking opportunity and financial access. North East Entrepreneurship Fellowship is the brainchild of Young Leaders Connect, an initiative of the IEF Foundation and YouthNet.
The faculty for the fellowship was KN Srinivasan, Senior Financial Consultant. A seasoned finance professional with over 35 years in complete financial management. He has also held financial leadership roles in prominent companies including Essel Group, Tata Consultancy, Sify, and Ashok Leyland.
The 2nd Cohort of the NEEF 2019 was graced with 20 entrepreneurs from the 8 North East States. (Manipur 3, Mizoram 2, Assam 3, Nagaland 5, Sikkim 3, Meghalaya 2, Tripura 1 and Arunachal Pradesh 1).
The 2 days sessions were largely focused on finance with the major point of discussions on topics such as Raising Funds for your Enterprise, Raising Debt Finance, raising Equity Finance, Challenges and risks involved in raising funds, Financial Reporting & MIS Reporting for Business, Discussions on debt and equity models, ratios, MIS and challenges.
It also further broke down into all wide arrays of discussion such as fundamentals to business: preparing project report, contents of project report, estimating the total cost of the project, pre-operative expenses, execution of the project. Means of finance: equity (internal/external), Debts, (Unsecured/secured). Business bank Loan: Term loans, Corporate debt restructuring, Fund based Loans, Syndicate loan, Bilateral loan, Non-fund based credit. Marketing and sales, the importance of setting weekly and monthly targets, etc.
North East Entrepreneurship Fellowship will continue to hold multiple conclaves along with exposure and networking initiatives down the following months.
