YouthNet Incubation Centre (YIC) has awarded grants of ₹10 lakh each to two emerging startups under the Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups (GENESIS) scheme, an initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Electroprint Neyug Private Limited and Nagademy were selected for the funding after a competitive selection process, reinforcing the Government of India’s commitment to fostering technological innovation and entrepreneurship in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
Electroprint Neyug Pvt. Ltd. specializes in affordable heating solutions aimed at improving cold-weather resilience through printed flexible heaters and advanced applications. Nagademy, meanwhile, has established itself as Nagaland’s first AI-powered mock test platform for UPSC and NPSC preparation, making civil service coaching more affordable and accessible through digital solutions.
Nuneseno Chase, Director of YouthNet, extended her congratulations to the selected startups, noting their significant contributions to the regional startup ecosystem. “These grants recognize the startups’ innovative solutions and their potential to drive meaningful change,” she said. YouthNet Director mentioned that Electroprint Neyug and Nagademy’s selection underlines the broader effort to elevate regional startups to national and global competitiveness. Their selection highlights the transformative potential of targeted support for technological innovation and entrepreneurship in underserved regions.
Neikepekho Shosahie, Associate Director (Entrepreneurship) at YouthNet, emphasized the importance of transparency and milestone-based funding in supporting the startups’ growth. “The GENESIS scheme focuses on technology innovation in areas such as electronics, IT, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and blockchain, while also addressing societal challenges in health, education, agriculture, and sustainability,” he said.
Government of India under the GENESIS scheme, with a budget of ₹490 crore over five years, aims to support approximately 1,600 technology startups across India’s smaller cities. By fostering innovation and empowering early stage ventures, the initiative seeks to strengthen India’s startup ecosystem and create new opportunities for economic growth and employment.
