Plant a tree, plant a hope for future – A tree plantation drive by YouthNet

YouthNet in partnership with the Department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change conducted a tree plantation drive today in Kohima under the theme “Plant a tree, plant a hope for future”, along side the road stretch between Nagaland Civil Secretariat to Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

A short program was held at Made in Nagaland Centre Kohima for the distribution of the tree saplings by the Department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Nagaland. The program was graced by Mrs. Rongsenlemla Imchen, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Kohima where in her speech she stated that the department is open to help or collaborate with any group or organizations towards the vision of saving our environment. She also thank the YouthNet for the initiative and looks forward for more of such future initiative in the state.

Further along, Mr. Metseruyi Testseo, Trainer, Multi Skill Foundation Course, demonstrated the plantation of the tree saplings and the plantation drive kicked off with the division of the volunteers into groups for numerous allocation of spot in the areas.

About 50 participants volunteered for the tree plantation drive today, consisting of students from TM Govt. Higher Secondary School Kohima along with their vocational trainers, Retail trainees & Sales Associate trainees from YouthNet, Beautypreneurs and YouthNet staffs.
