Tepfe Rhi
In 2025, the Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME) partnered with YouthNet to establish a comprehensive Banana Fibre Value Unit, Tepfe Rhi, in Medziphema, Chümoukedima district. The initiative aims to train 140 women and artisans in the production of market-oriented banana fibre products, equipping them with practical skills aligned with current market demands and enabling them to pursue sustainable livelihood opportunities.
The program adopted a holistic approach by integrating technical training with essential capacity-building components, including financial literacy, business planning, marketing strategies, and soft skills development. This ensured that participants were not only skilled in production but also prepared to manage and grow their own enterprises with confidence.
Tepfe Rhi is designed to serve as both a training and production hub. Beyond imparting hands-on skills to women and youth, the unit will play a critical role in enabling sustainable livelihood generation, fostering entrepreneurship, and strengthening the local value chain ecosystem.
