Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) Nagaland

Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) Nagaland - Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in Nagaland Through Platform Economy

YouthNet implements this program in partnership with Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME) and Amazon

Our primary aim is to empower micro-entrepreneurs, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly home-based individual women entrepreneurs across Nagaland by delivering crucial training in digital content marketing, ensuring compliance knowledge, and providing hands-on support for online store setup.

Key Goals

  • To empower micro-entrepreneurs, SHGs, and MSMEs across all 17 districts of Nagaland with digital tools, advanced marketing skills, and compliance knowledge, enabling them to establish and significantly enhance their online presence, including components of clean and green energy in their business models
  • To facilitate the online listing and sale of products from entrepreneurs on major e-commerce platforms, including Amazon, ensuring seamless integration and effective showcasing of unique offerings from each district
  • To foster sustainable economic growth by connecting these entrepreneurs with regional, national, and global markets, creating robust value chains across all 17 districts, increasing income levels, and establishing avenues for substantially increased sales and export opportunities beyond Nagaland
  • To promote the adoption of clean and green energy solutions, such as solar power, within entrepreneurial ventures, fostering environmental sustainability and reducing operational costs

Phases/Stages

  • Selection and Mobilization (Months 1-2): YouthNet, in collaboration with district administrations, community leaders, and local SHG clusters/MSME associations, will identify and select a total of 255 highly motivated micro-entrepreneurs, SHGs, and MSMEs, ensuring representation of 15 participants from each of the 17 districts across Nagaland. Comprehensive orientation programs will be conducted in each district

  • Market Linkages, Buyer-Seller Connect & Export Facilitation (Months 7-12): At least two major physical buyer-seller connect events will be organized, potentially linking with national trade fairs or exhibitions. Targeted mentorship and support will be provided for entrepreneurs interested in exporting their products, including understanding international logistics and market regulations

Monitoring will include sales performance, website traffic, customer feedback, income growth, and the number of businesses adopting clean energy solutions
