A training programme on “homestay” was organised by YouthNet in partnership with the Directorate of Tourism, Nagaland, Alder Tours and Dial Nagaland on Tuesday at main office of YouthNet, Kohima.
The training was organised under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) with assistant director, Directorate of Tourism, Veyielo Doulo as chief guest and the deputy director, Directorate of Tourism, Ajanuo Belho as guest of honour.
Addressing the participants, Veyielo Doulo, termed the field of tourism as an exciting sector and added that the opportunities tourism offer was never-ending.
He also pointed out that “homestay” does not require much investment and that the tourists are looking to experience what was local.
Ajanuo Belho exhorted the participants on the benefits of running “homestay” and encouraged the participants to take up the training and running “homestay” not only in the purview of running a business and making profits but as a hobby.
Kejaroko from Alder Tours highlighted on tourism and “homestay”; Nino Zhasa who runs “homestay” businesses shared her hands-on experience with the participants while Neingu Luho from Dial Nagaland briefed the participants on the “homestay” training program. The inaugural program was chaired by project manager (IMPACT 5000 by 18- YouthNet), Anini Nyenga.
