The second ‘Job and Career Fair’ which was organised by the Department of Labour and Employment in collaboration with YouthNet, witnessed the participation of around 50 reputed companies and vocational institutions. Organised with the view to help youth hone their skills, the two day Fair was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Nagaland, T. R Zeliang. Altogether 25 vocational training providers and about 25 job employers from various backgrounds such as hospitality sector, hotel sector and airlines were hiring at the Fair while about 1700 youths attended the fair. “By attending this fair, I have benefited a lot. I came to know about lots of companies. It will be very helpful for my career in the future,” said Scato Swu, a job seeker. Companies including Wipro, Toyota, Hyundai, VLCC, NIIT, Jet Airways and Pacifist participated in the Fair. “Today, we have registered 52 candidates already with us and two of them are interested to undergo training in Beauty Spa and hospitality. This is a very good platform for the job seeker and for the youth to know and get themselves trained,” said Aheibam Joyshankar Singh, the Regional Manager of O2 Skills.
