Job Description:

The Impact Assessment Study Intern will work closely with the project team to conduct an impact assessment study of the solar hybrid power plants installed at 25 primary health care centers across villages in Nagaland. The intern will be responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and analysis of the study, as well as preparing reports and recommendations based on the findings.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, social sciences, public policy, environmental sciences, or related fields.

Requirements:

  • Strong research skills and experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Experience in conducting impact assessment studies is desirable.
  • Proficient in using statistical software packages such as SPSS or R.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to remote and rural areas in Nagaland.

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and implementation of the impact assessment study, including literature review, research methodology, data collection, and data analysis.
  • Conduct site visits to the 25 primary health care centres to assess the functioning of the solar hybrid power plants, the quality of electricity supply, and its impact on health care delivery.
  • Conduct structured and semi-structured interviews with the health care workers, patients, and community members to assess their perceptions and experiences of the solar hybrid power plants.
  • Conduct surveys with health care workers and patients to assess the impact of the solar hybrid power plants on the delivery of health care services.
  • Analyze the data collected from the field and secondary sources using statistical software packages.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and recommendations based on the findings of the study.
  • Support the project team in organizing stakeholder meetings and presentations of the study findings.
