YouthNet Career Development Centre (YCDC)
YouthNet Career Development Centre (YCDC), previously known as Nagaland Career Development Centre (NCDC), is an integral part of YouthNet that focuses on providing training and development opportunities to the young people of Nagaland. The YCDC centre aims to create a pool of skilled and confident professionals who are ready to take on the challenges of the public and private sectors. With a strong belief that generating employable youth is just as important as creating jobs, YCDC has been working tirelessly towards empowering the young people of Nagaland with the necessary skills, confidence, and positive attitude required by the job market.
The YouthNet Career Development Centre offers a range of training programs and workshops that are designed to cater to the diverse needs of its participants. These programs cover a wide range of topics such as communication skills, leadership, entrepreneurship, digital marketing/ digital literacy, business compliance & business canvas models, practical sessions, and more. The workshops are conducted by experienced professionals who bring their expertise and knowledge to the table, making the learning experience enriching and engaging.
One of the key benefits of the training programs offered by YCDC is the increased sensitivity to aspects of professional behaviour. Participants are taught the importance of punctuality, respect, teamwork, and accountability, among other things. These soft skills play a crucial role in determining the success of an individual in the workplace and are highly sought after by employers.
Another significant advantage of YCDC’s training programs is the reduced number of rejections in interviews. People who have undergone the training programs have reported an increase in their confidence levels, which has helped them perform better in interviews. Additionally, the practical training sessions offered by YCDC prepare participants to handle real-world situations effectively, making them stand out from the crowd.
Since its inception in 2012, YCDC has trained over 10,000 students, 3,000 job seekers, and more than 1,000 professionals. The centre has been successful in bridging the gap between academia and the job market by providing industry-relevant training and development opportunities. The positive impact of YCDC’s training programs is evident from the feedback received from its participants, many of whom have gone on to achieve great success in their careers.
