Skill development department was created keeping in mind the changing lifestyles and market demands in order to provide youth with better livelihood opportunities by empowering them with necessary life skills. We emphasis on training and skilling of unemployed youth, schools & college drop-outs from both urban and rural areas in order to make them employable in organised as well as unorganized sectors both in Nagaland and other parts of India. Since its inception in 2017, we have trained more than 350 candidates in various Sector Skill Council like Tourism & Hospitality, Electronics, Telecom, Green Jobs and Solar- National Institute of Solar Energy.
YouthNet in collaboration with National Skills Development Corporation- NSDC, launched the pilot project on Homestays. The homestay training was under the Special Projects of PMKVY – Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna. The main idea is to empower young people with employment opportunities and also increase tourism growth within the Northeast.
