While job and career fairs give both job seekers and job givers an opportunity to interact, connect and link with each other, unemployment remains one of Nagaland’s biggest problems. For each job, there are 16 candidates and the ratio will only increase. In this regard, YouthNet in collaboration with the Government of Nagaland and CII organised the first Job Mela at Agri Expo, Dimapur from November 20- 21, 2013. The Union Ministry of Labour had funded 100% training fees for the selected candidates. During the Mela, a total of 7000 candidates registered, wherein 86 Vocational Training Providers and Companies also registered and set up stalls. More than 2000 youths were placed with different job options.
